Data protection
Pursuant to § 13 clause 1 of the German Teleservices Act (TMG), the provider of a teleservice must brief his users at the start of use about the type, scope and purposes of collecting and using personal data in a universally comprehensible format. The contents of the briefing must be available to the users at all times. Every company is obliged to brief the users on which personal data it shall collect or use.

Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH lays special emphasis on protecting the user’s data and on complying with the data protection provisions. The collection, processing and use of personal data is subject to the regulations of the current laws and of the EU Data Protection Directive. According to § 3 clause 1 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), personal data is deemed as particulars about personal and factual circumstances of a certain or ascertainable person.

Personal circumstances: For instance - name, address, e-mail address, date of birth, nationality, occupation, health records, religion etc. Factual circumstances: For instance - Income, financial condition, property etc.

Data Protection Declaration
Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH assures that it shall collect, process, save and use the incoming user data only in connection with settling the user requests and only for internal purposes.

Data transmission to Third Parties
Data may not be transferred to third parties without the consent of the parties concerned or without a legal basis.

Cookies
Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH does not use any Cookies. Cookies are short text files stored locally in the cache of the user’s internet browser. Cookies help to recognise the internet browser. The files are used to help to browser navigate through the webpage and to use all functions to the full extent.

E-Mail -Security

Web Analysis Service Google Analytics
Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH uses Google Analytics, a Web Analysis Service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "Cookies", text files, which are saved on the user’s computer and which analyse the use of the website. Information on the use of this website that is generated by the Cookie is usually transferred to a Google Server in USA and is saved there. If the IP-Anonyomisation is activated on this webpage, then the IP address of the user shall be previously abridged by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other Contracting States of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Only in exceptional cases, the entire IP address is transferred to a Google Server in USA and is abridged there. Right of Access
In accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the user is entitled to free information on his saved data as well as to correct, lock or delete this data. Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH shall notify the user in writing of the personal data of the user stored at Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH, if requested. This information is free.

User’s Right of Objection
If the user does not want active data usage for internal purposes by Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH , he is entitled to object to this usage and processing at any given time according to § 28 clause 4 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). Data transmission and Data recording for intrasystem and statistical purposes
Due to technical reasons, the internet browser of the user shall automatically transfer data to the web server while accessing this website. Every dataset contains the date and the time of access, URL of the referring website, opened file, quantity of data sent, browser type and version, operating system and the user’s IP address. It is not possible to allocate this data to a specific person. The stored data shall be evaluated only internally and only for statistical purposes.

Newsletter
The user has the opportunity of subscribing to the Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH newsletter. The user is entitled to unsubscribe from the newsletter mailing list at any given time. Every newsletter issue provides an automatic function for unsubscribing via the Unsubscribe Link.

Safety using Technical and Organisational Measures
Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH is introducing technical and organisational measures in accordance with § 9 Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), in order to protect data from accidental or deliberate manipulations, loss, destruction or from access to unauthorised persons. The safety measures in use are continuously improved according to the technological development.

Protection against minors
Persons under 12 years of age must not transfer any personal data to Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH without the consent of parents/legal guardians. Minors may transfer personal data to Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH only if this has been explicitly approved by the parents/legal guardians or if the minors are 12 years old or above. This data is processed according to this Data Protection Declaration.
